Swiper, no swiping!

I've always had this problem with Dora the Explorer (and Go, Diego, Go too). These guys are always rescuing animals from the evil jaws of other animals. Animals that need to eat meat in order to survive. It's at this point that my mind always wanders to an alternate version of the show where we follow the animal denied a nutritious meal and watch as it slowly starves and plots its revenge on the do-gooder duo.

  1. I'm assuming you've watched the Dora the Explorer college humor sketches that came out recently?

If you haven't, they are very enjoyable.

  2. This reminded me of the Perry Bible Fellowship "Billy the Bunny" strip: http://pbfcomics.com/106. Everyone's trying to survive.

  3. [Irony follows]:

I know what you mean! How can Swiper get food to survive, or earn a dollar?

I also have a problem with the 1970s Roadrunner + Coyote cartoons.

Why doesn't the Coyote give up on trying to eat the roadrunner, + just switch to bugs or vegetarian burritos ?

...Or why doesn't he just get some archery stuff, or a flamethrower, and just NAIL the zippy little blaggard?

    Poor little predator animals. :)

  4. Ever wonder about the ethics of Dora the Explorer saving animals from predators? What if there was a show exploring the consequences for hungry animals left without a meal, sparking discussions about the delicate balance in nature and unintended consequences?
