2012 Election

Normally I would wait until Sunday to post this but in light of last night's Republican Presidential Debate...

  1. She will always be Michele "slaves had two-parent families" Bachmann to me; and I really try to look closely at a politician's purported stances on things before I completely write them off. It's like she opened her mouth to start a speech and belched.

  2. I hear you. I also like to try and get a fuller picture of a candidate before judging. Bachmann has been around for several years and she always stuck out in my mind as having a certain drive for higher office. But in the end I have a problem with a politician who so closely aligns their religious beliefs with their political career. I don't care that they are religious but they are elected to serve the people in their district/city/state/country regardless of religion.

  3. I agree with Tak. The problem, as I see it, is that religious politicians believe that they are elected via a "higher-power" and so are beholden to what-ever flavor of irrational thinking that the so-called higher-power sees fit to dispense.

  4. I hear where you are coming from, however, it seems to me that any politician, regardless of whether they are Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, etc., if they truly adhere to their beliefs, will use those beliefs in making their decisions. For instance, I couldn't care less if a Christian judge displays the 10 Commandments at his courthouse. I also wouldn't care if a Buddhist Judge displayed a Buddha statue in front of his. Their Religious beliefs are part of their life, instead of telling them to turn their back on those beliefs when they are a politician, they should simply not elect them. This also goes the same for the Church of Atheism, it's members are very loud, and rule by their beliefs as well.

P.S. I am a Republican that really likes your comic strip, even though it is left leaning....too funny :)
